Umigo Fundraiser: A SUCCESS!!!!

It's a small sign but it made around $1,900 dollars!
Thank you everyone for your hard work!

The Umigo fundraiser Walkers for Knockers hosted Sunday was a huge success.  Here we are just setting up the wine tasting area.  This is a sampling of wine we had.  There were many more bottles stored in the staff room.

Dustin was a real sport.  He hung stuff from the ceiling and blew up balloons until he was red in the face.  He did a terrific job and we really appreciate all he did to make it a festive occasion.

The baskets we raffled off were wonderful.  Lots of imagination and hard work went into creating them. We definitely have a creative team.  Umigo was nice enough to also add a gift basket for our raffle.

Here are some samples of the baskets that were created.

I thought Nancy really went all out for the gardening basket.  It turned out not to be a basket but a cute little cart with all her potting and planting goodies inside.  It made a fantastic centerpiece for the raffle.

I think the Starbucks Coffee basket was the most popular.  Eyes would light up when people would first see it.  It definitely had a lot of tickets in the jar so the competition was fierce.

Not only did people enjoy the wine tasting but they spent lots of time on the track racing the carts.

I personally enjoyed interacting with the various people who came.  They were a very nice group who were serious about helping us raise money for cancer research.

The Walkers for Knockers team would like to thank:

Umigo of Livermore, for the use of their premises, the beautiful basket they made for us to raffle off, advertising our event and donating a portion of their ticket sales Sunday to our team.

Checkers Catering of Livermore for donating the food and setting up such a beautiful display.

Elliston Winery of Sunol for their generous donation of a variety of wines for our raffle and tasters.

Thumbprint Wine Cellers of Healdsburg for their generous donation of a variety of wine.

Starbucks for the wonderful donation of coffee for our event.

Sal and Lee Gurule for their donation of a wonderful coffee basket for our raffle.

Lori Pavich for her wonderful donation of the African basket which we raffled off.

Without the combined help of the team members who volunteered their Sunday night and local businesses we wouldn't have had such a successful fundraiser.

Thank you so much everyone, we're all very proud of the money we raised for the American Cancer Society.

Remember the fundraising has definitely not stopped.  So if you're reading this and want to donate, we would love your support!

Wanted: Pretty Purple Potty!!!!

DESCRIPTION:

HEIGHT:  30"
WEIGHT:  Refused to be weighed
RACE:  Kohler
SCARS:
Upper L Tank
Front L Lid
Lower Front Base

Pretty Purple Potty is described as a 30 inch tall purple toilet (yes, a toilet) wearing painted flowers and "Walkers for Knockers," and "Relay for Life" lettering.  'Potty', is considered armed (with a sign) but not dangerous.

After raising over $700 in funds for the American Cancer Society's San Ramon Relay for Life, PPP has been charged with "Stinking Up the Neighborhood" and "Blackmail."

Purple Potty was last seen in Contra Costa County and is believed to be on the lam.  PPP has been seen traveling from safe house to safe house throughout the Tri- Valley area.  Sources confirm that Potty is still raising funds (under the assumed name of Purple) for the Walkers For Knockers team.  Local officials have no interest in pursuing the charges from Contra Costa County but to play it safe, we believe keeping on the move is the best defense.

If you have seen the Pretty Purple Potty, please leave a comment on today's post and email:
UPDATE:  We believe PPP was last seen at the home of Vickie in Livermore.  This is the last picture taken of Potty.  As you can see, it's been roughed up a bit more.  Information on the street indicates it's looking for a back alley painter to aid in removing it's scars.

More information to follow as we receive it.
